Office of Student Services and Credentialing
The Office of Student Services and Credentialing (OSSC) is responsible for the admission of students to professional teacher education programs at the College of Charleston. In addition, OSSC places students in local public schools for field and clinical practice experiences, which provide opportunities for candidates to apply their knowledge, skill and dispositions in a variety of settings appropriate. These experiences integrate with coursework, are developmentally sequenced for the candidates, and help candidates develop the competence necessary to begin their careers.
All candidates seeking initial teacher licensure, regardless of the college in which they are enrolled, must meet the requirements for admission to professional education, complete an approved teaching curriculum, and pass the required PRAXIS tests as determined by the major to be recommended for licensure.
